Traveling

Traveling is a violation that occurs when a player holding the ball moves one or both of their feet illegally.

A player must dribble the ball while moving. If the player stops dribbling and moves their feet without passing, shooting, or starting another dribble, it’s considered traveling.

The penalty for traveling is a turnover, and the opposing team is given possession of the ball.
