Remesha’s Slam Dunk Quarter

The East Africa Basketball Championship Cup (EABCC) Zone 5 tipped off in style on Tuesday, 10 December 2024 at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium. Fans were treated to a cocktail of drama, grit, and jaw-dropping moves on this action-packed opening day.

Remesha Turns Up the Heat on ABC in a Thrilling Opener

Burundi’s Remesha put on a clinic in their opener against Tanzania’s ABC, cruising to an 84-75 win. ABC started strong, winning the tip-off and matching Remesha basket-for-basket in a nail-biting first quarter, which ended 21-20 in favour of the Tanzanians.

The drama peaked in the third quarter as Remesha emerged from halftime with a vengeance, unleashing a scoring rampage to build a commanding 15-point lead. By the end of the game, Veteran Landry Ndikumana showed he’s still king, dropping 20 points, while Guilbert Nijimbere added 18 and Napoleon Abikunze chipped in 15.

ABC fought back but couldn’t quite bridge the gap. Despite Omany Ndula’s game-high 22 points and a valiant effort from Jonas Oberlin Mushi (16 points) and Enerico Maengela Augustino (15 points), they couldn’t stop Remesha’s relentless offense.
